Rome total war 2 best roman faction
I just happen to prefer the Julii for more moral reasons. I understand that this is just a game and none of this is real, but I just think it's awesome how CA decided to make Rome more interesting by splitting them into three factions, each with different beliefs. In fact, it was so easy it wasn't that entertaining for me anymore. I've played as the Brutii before and it was incredibly easy to steamroll over the other Romans. This means that by the time you start a civil war with the Brutii and Scipii, you'll have to rely more on wits than sheer wealth and millitary force. On high difficulty levels in the Julii campaign, the Brutii and Scipii gain a very significant head start, and as a result they obtain more wealth and stronger armies than you could ever dream. You're essentially playing as the underdogs of the three Roman brother factions, and as a result, you are forced to constantly battle against barbarians armies that vastly outnumber you, which forces you to use a bit more sophistication in your tactics.
True, they end up subjugating the Celtic factions of Gaul and the Britons, as well as the Spanish Iberians, but after they Romanize them I'm sure they'd become eligible to be given more rights than the average Brutii or Scipii citizen.īesides, who can blame the Julii for wanting to support the common people instead of the snobby Senate, a faction that can't even make any decent choices for Rome?Ģ) The Julii campaign is more of a challenge. As a result, the fact that they care for the common Romans makes the Julli the good guys from my point of view. I picked them because, compared to the two other factions, they don't have any ideology similar to the snobby, elitist Scipii or the authoritarian, brutish Brutii. On this game, Julius Ceasar is in the Julii faction on one of the historical battles, who is also described as a man of the Roman people in official history. I did not pick them for reasons involving easy conquest (in fact, the Julii have the most difficult campaign out of all three Roman factions), I picked them for two primary reasons:ġ) The Julii faction's description says they care for the Roman people (definitely not barbarians, but the Romans themselves). My favorite Roman faction is definitely Julii. While all of the stories of the Roman factions are 1 million miles away from being historically accurate in Rome Total War, I do find the alternate history fascinating, like a good read from a fictional story in a book.
